Connections and controls
Blackmagic Audio Monitor has a back panel with many inputs, outputs, and controls. Here's how to use them:
Connectors on the rear panel include one pair of XLR/TRS combo jacks with 48V phantom power for connecting balanced audio sources; a pair of stereo RCA jacks with standard analog input (CD/Tape); two pairs of stereo RCA jacks for unbalanced line-level audio signals; and two 3.5mm headphone outputs (1/4" TRS).
The front panel has a volume knob that can be adjusted by hand or remotely controlled via MIDI or automation software like Logic Pro X or Pro Tools if you have an interface that supports these functions. An Input Select button lets you choose between 1/4", Line 5 Pin L/R, CD Clock Out, Tape Outputs 3&4, Auxiliary Left/Right channels 1&2 respectively depending on what type of source device is being used at any given time such as record decks tape machines etc... An Output Volume knob lets us set output level on each channel independently from -60dBFS down all the way up +12dBFS for maximum dynamic range!
Connections and Controls
The Blackmagic Audio Camera Control Monitor has a variety of connections, allowing you to get the most out of your new audio device. The front panel features a power button, volume knob, headphone jack and input selector wheel. You can also connect headphones directly into the monitor itself using this jack if desired. At the rear of the unit are two XLR balanced microphone inputs and one 1/4” unbalanced line input, as well as stereo RCA line level outputs for easy connection to a recording device or another pair of monitors. Additionally there’s an on/off switch for each individual channel so you can use them independently (e.g., one mic while another records from your guitar). Finally there is a standard IEC power connector at back so you can use any AC adapter with a matching plug (not included).
The front panel is where you will find the knob that controls the volume.
There is also a headphone jack and microphone jack on the front panel, as well as a power button.
Line Out: Use the line out jack to connect a device that has a 3.5mm headphone jack.
Headphone Jack: Listen to your audio while recording with the headphones connected to this port.
Mic Input: Connect an XLR microphone here and use it as an input for your Blackmagic Audio Monitor or use it as a second audio source for monitoring purposes only, such as watching two videos at once or listening in on two channels of audio during post production workflows.
The back panel of the Blackmagic Audio Monitor is where you will find power connections and other controls.
The Audio Monitor’s power connection is located on the back panel. It uses a standard IEC cable socket and can be inserted into any standard power supply. The monitor has an internal switch that automatically turns off when a computer is powered down, so it does not consume power when it is not in use.
The inputs and outputs for your audio mixers are located on the back panel of the monitor as well, allowing you to connect multiple sources while monitoring all audio simultaneously through your headphones or speakers connected to your computer or smartphone’s headphone jack.

The Blackmagic Audio Monitor is a great product for those of you who want to use it for your audio production. It's very affordable, and it has some nice features that will help you monitor your sound and make sure everything is balanced correctly.
The Blackmagic Audio Monitor is a great product for the price. It has many features that you would expect from much more expensive devices, including robust digital connectivity and onboard DSP processing. The only drawback I can think of is that it doesn't have XLR inputs or balanced outputs - but these are easily remedied with an adapter cable or two! If you're looking for something simple to bridge the gap between your record player or mixer and computer speakers then this might just be what you need...
