CalMAN is the industry leading color calibration software for color perfectionists - and for good reason. Not only does CalMAN give you an unprecedented level of control over your monitors, it also offers a full suite of tools that enable you to perform tasks like setting picture presets for clients or viewing 3D LUTs on any display.
Why would you need or want to do this? Well, imagine sitting down in front of your client's monitor and seeing their final video project before they see it—in its most accurate form—for the first time. Imagine being able to use those same settings on future projects by simply loading them into CalMAN's library. This kind of workflow efficiency can save hours of work each week while also increasing reliability and consistency between projects.
CalMAN’s extensive list of workflows enable you to complete a variety of tasks with ease and confidence. We’ve included the most common professional calibration requirements, plus an array of advanced features so you can accomplish any task.
You can also choose from predefined settings tailored for any display technology or use our wizard-driven interface to create your own workflow.
CalMAN's new AutoCal takes the guesswork out of display calibration while creating a professional-grade calibration solution anyone can perform.
AutoCal is an automated calibration solution that makes it easy for anyone to achieve professional-grade color accuracy on any display technology, including OLED, QLED and LED LCDs. AutoCal is designed to work with a variety of display technologies, including OLED and QLED (Quantum Dot) displays as well as LED LCDs. It also works with a variety of calibration instruments, including Colorimeters such as the X-Rite i1 Display Pro or Spyder5PRO/5DC from DataColor Systems Inc., Spectrophotometers like the i1Pro2 from X-Rite or the Minolta CS500 from Konica Minolta Sensing Americas Inc., CalMAN's own CMS-110 spectrophotometer, or even a camera app on your smartphone!
CalMAN is not only the software of choice for many well-known colorists, but it is also used extensively by numerous Hollywood movie studios.
Many studios use CalMAN to achieve a consistent look through the entire postproduction chain. Studios love how easy the software makes it to get accurate and repeatable results across a wide range of displays, formats and workflow scenarios.
CalMAN has been engineered from the ground up to support the latest technologies and video formats, allowing you to confidently calibrate your video displays with the best possible accuracy.
CalMAN is used by many well-known colorists who trust it to make sure that their work is at its best.
C3 Colorimeter Technology delivers unprecedented accuracy and ease of use for single-sensor display calibration.
No need to calibrate a second sensor. The i1 Pro 2's unique dual-channel design lets you measure ambient light levels on an adjacent sensor, which is then used to automatically optimize your monitor settings for the best possible visual experience in both ambient lighting and dark rooms.
Industry leading results are achieved with little effort or time; simply place the probe over your display, press "Next" and let i1 Pro 2 do its job!
CalMAN offers several solutions for large workflows, such as collaborative production environments or using multiple displays at once. There are two types of setups:
Single monitor with multiple colorimeters (one per display)
Multiple monitors with a single colorimeter (one per display)
Multiple Colorimeters vs. Single Colorimeter: CalMAN's workflow engine is designed to support both methods, but it is important to note that each method has unique advantages and disadvantages:
CalMAN users have a wide range of integration solutions to choose from. SpectraCal has developed a number of integration solutions that allow you to use many different types of instrumentation with CalMAN. A few examples include:
The i1Display Pro allows you to calibrate your display with the included software, or import custom targets for professional-quality color matching between various devices.
The i1Profiler is a powerful hardware solution for calibrating laptops and portable displays, or even portable projectors. It's also compatible with most calibration devices, including calibration probes such as X-Rite’s ColorMunki Display, Spyder5ELITE & SE models (including mobile ones), Datacolor Spyder4Express & Elite/Pro/Studio models (including mobile ones), X-Rite i1Display 2nd Gen., ColorEyes Display 2nd Gen., and more!
If none of these fit your needs, please contact us today so we can help find an appropriate solution for you!
Calman is a monitor calibration software that comes bundled with the ColorMunki and other color measuring devices. If you don’t own a device, you can download calman free from their website. Calman works by getting an accurate reading of your display's white point, gamma, and brightness settings so that your video images are reproduced accurately on your monitor.
The process of calibrating a display is not very difficult but it can be time consuming depending on how many monitors you have to calibrate as well as how many displays need to be matched in order for them to look consistent when multiple editors are working on projects simultaneously. A typical calibration takes about 10 minutes per display, however this varies depending upon whether or not there are any issues with the calibration process during testing (this is discussed further in step 3).
If you’re looking for an easy way to calibrate your monitor and make it look better, CalMAN is the right choice. The software is designed for color perfectionists and professionals alike, with a variety of workflows that will suit any workflow. With new AutoCal technology that can automatically calibrate displays in minutes without requiring any hardware or software upgrades, it’s never been easier to create professional-quality calibration results at home or in the office.
