The Canon T7i is one of the better DSLR cameras on the market, but it doesn't have a built-in screen. This can be frustrating if you're trying to shoot video and don't have an external monitor. Fortunately, there are several different ways that you can connect a monitor to your camera!

The second option is an SDI port, which allows for a higher quality picture and better sound when connecting an external monitor via SDI cable.
There are a lot of situations in which connecting an external monitor is useful. If the screen on your camera isn't large enough or bright enough, you can connect it to a larger screen that's easier to see from afar. Or if you're filming from across the room, it's much easier to have an external monitor so that you don't need to move around as often. You could also attach a second camera for creating multiple angles and perspectives!

This is useful if you are shooting with a tripod or if you are shooting with a tripod that has a fluid head.
Having an external monitor also makes it easier for multiple people on set to see what's being captured. If you're filming with a friend and want to see the footage together, you can each look at the screen of your own camera instead of having to share one screen and take turns looking at each other's cameras.
That doesn't mean that you don't need a second person. External monitors allow the person holding up or near the camera (in this case, me) not only to check my own footage—which I do often in order, among other reasons, to make sure I'm not too close—but also allows me to glance over at my partner's side as well—to make sure his head is turned toward mine so we can talk about what we're seeing as well as how things are going generally speaking.
There are also times when you don't want to hold your camera up at eye level, like when shooting video at the beach or on a windy day. Holding the camera at eye level can make it difficult to see what's happening in front of you and may make it impossible for you to capture any footage from a lower perspective.
By holding your camera down at waist level, however, you can get a better view of what's going on around you while still being able to adjust quickly if someone comes up from behind or something moves out of frame. You'll also find that this position is much more comfortable than holding the camera over your head for any length of time—especially if there isn't much room between where you're standing and where everyone else is standing!
If you're shooting video with your Canon T7i, there are several different ways that you can use an external monitor.

It's worth noting that having an external monitor does not give you a better picture than using the viewfinder alone—it simply gives you another option for viewing what's happening outside of that small window. If anything, it may actually be worse because it has a wider angle and doesn't have any sort of magnification like the viewfinder does!
If you do decide to go with an external monitor for shooting video or photos (or both), then here are some things to keep in mind:
The size of the monitor should be large enough so that when placed on a table next to where someone would stand while holding their camera, they'll still be able to see everything they need while maintaining eye contact with whoever they're talking too.* A good way would be by having them hold up their phone facing down towards their chest so as not block anyone else's line-of-sight at all times possible throughout each day - especially during those first few weeks before getting used
